Auto sales on an upswing, are good times ahead for the sector?

Commercial vehicles segment posted a healthy double digit growth. Looks like the impact of demonetization is a thing of the past. The impact of the switch to BS IV emission norms has also seems to have abated.

Normal monsoon and recovering rural demand have given a boost to the sales numbers. This has largely been aided by improving farm incomes due to better crop realizations and improving sentiment.

Passenger Vehicles was a mixed bag with Tata motors posted good YoY number backed by strong demand for new launches based on its next gen platform. Market leader Maruti posted a 10% YOY number while Mahindra saw tepid growth.

The numbers look good and I think the fortunes of the sector are turning around, what do you think?
