Dead shares and claim of capital loss?

i hold many dead shares in demat account for which there are no quotes /no trading . can i claim capital loss against this share by transferring the same to other person’s demat account for say rs 1 per share and charge this loss to my long term capital gains ?

You can write these shares off if the company is defunct. Accordingly, you’ll be able to claim long term capital loss and set it off against LTCG in the year of write off.

Consult your accountant, perhaps. Cheers.
