Expiry Day glitch on BSE Sensex - happening every Sensex and Bankex expiry

I think zerodha team is already aware of this but still I wanted to make a post detailing the issue.

Every Friday and Monday, BSE seems to get overloaded after 2 o’clock. And from 2 to 3:30, the prices that it shows are delayed by 20 seconds to 2 minutes.

This is not a zerodha issue. This is a BSE issue happening on all brokers.

You see an option trading at 75. You place a limit sell at 70. It won’t execute. You can modify it but it won’t execute. And when you execute it at market, it will get executed at 30. This is just one of the examples out of many that happened today. Twitter is filled with traders complaining and several video proofs as well.

What is happening is basically the 70 that is being shown is 1-2 minutes old data and actual price is around 30.

This is completely unsustainable. We can’t trade with minutes old data. And this has been happening since last 3 weeks at the least. Earlier it used to happen from 2:30. Today it started from 2 o’clock.

Please take it up with BSE and impress on them the seriousness of the issue. They want to make crores from charges and fees but can’t fix their infra.

(Will update screenshots and links. Too many to post them all.)

@nithin

This didn’t just happen today as a one time thing. It has been happening since a few weeks on every Friday and Monday.

BSE needs to fix this fast. Otherwise one of these Mondays or Fridays, there will be a big one sided move after 2 o’clock and there will be complete chaos.
