Sir it is applicable on writer also to square off its position to reduce heavy stt

No need square up for writers,
No stt charges for buy options

Hi @P_SINGH1,

The STT is applicable on options only on the sell side, so since while writing options, you are selling first, on squaring off what you will be doing is a buy, so there is no STT when you square off this position. You have already paid the STT at 0.05% of the premium you receive when you do the writing.

Cheers,
Lindo

If open buy position in options end of expiry then stt charges 0.125% @ strike price, if close your position before expiry stt charges 0.05 %. …
Big difference …
