Why did't I get allotment for my BSE IPO application?

Hi,

Last week I applied for one lot BSE IPO through HDFC Bank IPO Application service where I provided Zerodha Demat account no. Yesterday I was informed by BSE that no Allotment was made against my application.

Whereas some of my friends ordered one lot BSE IPO and got allotment through other brokerages like HDFC Securities, SBICAP Securities etc. Is there any kind of difference treatment for brokerages like Zerodha during IPO Allotment? My friends who got allotment did not apply directly themselves, instead Brokerage staffs applied for them. Is there any trick for getting the Allotment which Brokerage Firm Personals are wel familiar? Please inform.

Allotment in an IPO is not guaranteed, It also doesn't matter through whom you are applying. Read this to know more. The chances of allotment decrease when the IPO gets subscribed.

Rajkumar is dot right.

You ever participate in Draw or you know about draw ! just like that.

In my case, I had applied for 6 lot and still have not received a single share. To my knowledge, when shares are oversubscribed then allotment is done on pro-rata basis. Is this not true?

Bhuvanesh, IPO allotment not on first come first serve basis even if IPO is over subscribed later (on next day)?
