Since the general consensus over years of observation,
is that no fund-manager/fund can beat the benchmark consistently,
What is/are plausible reason(s) for this exceptional performance?
Are these reasons immune to “reversion to mean” ?
Its a good fund. Within Multi Asset cat, I mainly have Quant Multi Asset Alloc Fund and SBI Multi Asset Alloc Fund which I think has lil more consistent returns when you compare year by year - ofc it is has a more conservative strategy and overall 5-10 year returns are lesser than Quant’s.
Are you looking only at point to point returns? Rolling returns may be good idea.
3 year rolling returns form inception suggest that for first half icici pru multi asset performed better and in second half for most of time its on 2nd position.
yes. Quant wins handsomely in 2nd half but it may not remain in position forever…
Inscribe above words in golden letters. It would be difficult to find a fund which will win in all conditions.

yes… money will grow, but dont expect number 1 performance for next 30-40 years, and there is nothing wrong in it unless fund managers screws up something major.
I believe completely passive truly mulitasset (gold + global) investing is way to go.
passive have one problem - keep a lens and look closely means - any big market crash are something happen globally - passive fund cannot act immediately - we need to travel with market - in active fund manger can act immediately to reduce position or to hedge with some other instrument - this is not possible in passive
global +gold is available in DSP multi asset fund last 1 year is 30% - dsp have global exposure + value based strategy
To pass on something to next generation… its truly long term horizon. i would put my money on @cvs guidance about benchmark beating.
Anyhow its personal finance. Not necessarily what is right for me will work for everyone else. .
