Not celebrating. Just saying there will be lot of drama wherever it goes
Volatility is much needed for a market to function properly.
It is healthy for a trader who manages his/her risk properly.
A lot of people are praising him at the moment. But the problem with Mr. Trump’s “week-long entertainment” is -
- You had one trump card up your sleeves. And rest of the world were holding a pair of twos. And you just used your hand to try and win a very small pot size.
- Nothing quantifiable was actually achieved. Literally nothing. Except for inflation for your own people, dollar trust deficit and spiking bond yields.
- You are now in serious trust deficit. Trust is the currency of world trade. Your words hold no meaning now. No one will ever trust you again.
- You say that you won, but the fact is you blinked first against 179 countries because 75 countries called and China matched every move of yours. Lolz.
- Uniform tariffs solves nothing for your people or problem at hand. China can just as easily route via Vietnam, Mexico, Europe without those 125% tariffs on paper.
Zoom out a bit and everyone will see - this wasn’t bold. It was a “one trick pony” act.
This kind of theatrics could have helped solve real World/USA problems, potential WWIII negotiations, nuclear positioning, missile crisis, etc. But nobody is gonna trust you again. It’s such a wasted opportunity.
And I was waiting for those levels.
Trump exempts China-made smartphones, computers and chips from reciprocal tariff plan
Pretty much all the top imports from China are exempted from the additional 125% tariff, this is as good as no tariff, yet TRUMP would pretend as if he won.
Trump thought he could push China into a deal, by increasing the tariff multiple times, China stood its ground and retaliated.
Trump literally achieved nothing, other than maybe pocketing millions/billions for himself, from market manipulation.
Soon Trump will say, whosoever doesn’t levy same tariff on China as me will face double tariffs than that on China. Too much fun.
