No, that is one of the mandates for the AMC. Whatever they do, it needs to be passive. I don’t see any point in being an active fund right now, especially with 50+ AMCs already out there.
Can’t they change the mandate later? Or what will take to change it?
Do you think it won’t bring in any funds? The name “Zerodha” is as big as any now. Just the name will bring funds. People who want to invest in active will invest in active funds - instead of say Bandhan those funds flow to you almost passively. I doubt the new owners won’t be tempted to milk that.
Any new fund the AMC launches will need our explicit approval.
Is it possible that sometime in the future we would change our minds about passives only? Yeah, it is possible. But at least for now, I don’t see a reason why.
The idea, as a business, is to tell a different story from all others and stay consistent with it. I think too many businesses struggle to stay consistent. I guess it is much easier for us, given all the luck we have had :), as revenue doesn’t take priority in these decisions.
hi @VishalJain
There is some bug with the multi asset passive fof returns page. In the historical performance section, 1 year returns shows as 18% for intended exposure and 10.7% for benchmark. In the scheme section, 1 year return shows as 13.37% for this fund and 11.93% for benchmark. Please check
It’s showing data upto 16 July. Maybe some suspicious date. No matter the duration you choose it goes only upto 16 July.
Thanks for highlighting, will get this checked.
still not fixed.
Hey we are aware of this and will be done soon. Thanks for your patience. Rgds
