Averaging the stocks

respected sir,

i’d bought some shares of sbi and amtek auto at a relatively high price.upon finding that i wouldnt be able to recover the money,i sold them at a cheaper rate and then bought back the same shares at that rate but the stockholding in pi is still showing the initial data.pls help me out.also is this how averaging is done.

If you did this sell and then buy back on the same day, it will be considered as an intraday trade. The value of your holdings will not get affected because of this intraday trade. Any profit from this trade will be credited to your trading account.
