BSE and NSE inter exchange trade

I thought if I Buy a stock in NSE, I can not sell it in BSE the same day. But Zerodha did that on that NSE PROBLEM DAY where Zerodha used BSE to square off NSE intraday trades. How is it possible?

Why can’t I do it too? Am I missing something? Please help to understand @ShubhS9 @siva

You can check this out:

So, if I buy, for example, Reliance Stock in NSE today, and sell Reliance Stock in BSE today, I will be able to do it?

While placing sell order, it won’t show me the error “You don’t have any HOLDINGS to place CNC Sell Order”?

I mean to say, will this work when placing both orders as MIS, or will I have to place both orders as CNC? Or what? Please explain with an example. @ShubhS9 @siva

You can’t do this as of now in CNC, once interoperability on frontend is available you can buy in one exchange and sell in other in CNC without double margin/stocks in your Demat. So, for now nothing changes.
