Can brokers do Intraday trading in equity in cash segment?

What about Asset Management companies ? Do they have any restriction for Intraday trading in equities ?

Why would you do that? You can just do it in your personal account right? Why take an AIF license and all?

Can’t do, by AMC I am guessing you are talking about Mutual funds.

More credibility and recognition , limited liability , maybe esteem needs .etc. Maybe something like family office kind structure.
And can raise outside money in future if want to.

How do people like Jhunjhunwala manage his money, both trading and investing? I don’t think he has opened AIF or NBFC. Does anyone know? May be can invest and trade through similar structure.

A lot of prop trading happens through partnership firms or through individual names, more tax efficient structure.

If one can form private limited company and get alpha membership then there will be no restriction on intraday trading in equity ?

No restrictions.
