Can i convert a shorting MIS order into CNC?

can i convert a shorting order,MIS into CNC ? For ex: if a sell a share at 200 first (with MIS option) and then see that stock price has increased to 205 (in this case i will be at loss). So, to avoid that can i convert it from MIS to CNC?

The only way you can is if you have the stock in your demat account. So essentially the stock from your demat will be delivered against the sell position you held. If you don’t have stock in your demat, you can’t convert.
