Cover orders are grouped orders, in the sense you have an entry and exit planned in advance for an intraday play - both entry and exit is by way of market orders. You enter the position knowing that you’re going to exit it if you have X amount of loss or some profit. The margins for cover orders are lowest because of this.
It’s almost like getting a couples pass to a discotheque. A couples pass is always cheaper than a stag pass. You cannot buy a couples pass and enter or exit without your partner.

Partial square off is not possible, since the cover orders come with an in-built stop loss order for the entire quantity. Modification of quantity is not allowed, since this is the idea based on which high leverage is given by the broker to you.
Would be nice if you summarised why it wasn’t possible.
