YES. You can hold SHORT Positions till the expiry of the Futures and Options contract, provided
1) You have sufficient margin in your trading account.
2) Used the Product type as NRML (normal) when selling the contracts.
The nearest expiry of Futures and Options contracts will be the last Thursday of every month.
