Can one person maintain more than one demat account?

If I want to maintain two different demat account with different brokers, is that possible? Or is it require one demat account for one PAN number?

Yes, I think you can have two different demat accounts.

But one trading account will have one demat account mapped.

Yes with another broker you can have another trading and demat account.

Yes, most certainly. And more than one Demat Account can be added for one PAN Card.
