It already is though. SEBI was making some noises about getting rid of weekly options but the pushback from big brokers like Z f.e. making clear that doing so would result in charges for equity delivery trades caused them to bin that idea! 
Option liquidity doesn’t have to come at the expense of cash market. Both can support each other.
