The proposal is to carve out a separate category of mutual fund platforms that will offer execution only and no advice. The issue today is even if direct MF platforms offer execution only and no advice, they still have to conform to the RIA guidelines, which takes a lot of work.
SEBI is proposing allowing Execution only platforms that can either charge the users or can get a fee from the AMC. That’s just a consultation paper seeking comments from the industry and the final circular, if any, will take quite some time. So nothing chnages as of today.
