Corporate Action: Buyback for pledged shares

  1. If a stock is pledged (for example NTPC ) be eligible for consideration of buyback on record date ? Or should it be unpledged before record date ?

  2. If eligible as per record data, can the stock which is pledged be applied for buyback or should it be unpledged before applying in console ?

Hi, you will be eligible for Corporate Action even if you have pledged your shares, however to tender your shares in Buyback you will have to unpledge your shares.
