Covered calls against my holding shares

If I have 500 equity shares of HDFCBANK (1 lot of FNO), to sell a CE do I need any margin in Zerodha?I could not find a calculator for the same. I also have others stock which I am planning to buy to the lot size. Will there be a difference in margin for covered calls against different stocks?

Do I need to pledge my shares to sell ATM/OTM CE, please educate me on this subject with necessary details. Appreciate your support.

Do I need to pledge my shares to sell ATM/OTM CE

When you pledge any of your shares(it’s not necessary to be the same shares of whose f&o Contracts you’ll buy/sell) , Zerodha after deducting a hairline amount, will release the balance as margin, with Wich you can sell options.
