Great !!!
Really interested in the technical aspects of how this is implemented and managed. Please ping me if you happen to share any technical post on this.
Just a doubt not directly related to Zerodha, but first time seeing this feature on WhatsApp.
Does Meta/WhatsApp get access to the info we send to Zerodha like OTP and the stuff zerodha sends like list of trades when we use this feature?
Whatsapp chats are generally E2E encrypted (including business chats) so Whatsapp/Meta can’t read the contents of the messages itself (they still can collect metadata such as the frequency of messages, timings etc.).
However, Whatsapp/Meta offer additional services that companies can opt into which allows Meta to store such business chats to provide some additional services.
If you go to any business chat and scroll to the very top, you will see a banner which says either that the chat is E2E encrypted OR that the business has opted for the Meta service to store chats. For eg. I checked HDFC Bank chats are E2E encrypted while chats from Amazon Fresh were using the service from Meta.
I am sure Zerodha will not be using this optional service (but it’s easy to validate in any case) so the chats should be E2E encrypted.
