I only trade next-day expiry options on Mondays and Tuesdays. It’s part of my discipline checklist, along with never holding a position for more than 30 minutes, avoiding trades after 2:20 PM, and, of course, no sattabazi. 
I guess this was the plan all along: to dissuade or discourage intraday traders, especially the expiry day hero-zero traders.
never holding a position for more than 30 minutes - that would be true if theta decay was quite a lot , but is it really that much ?
I don’t trade expiry too, instead trade next week expiry on that day. Mainly STBT and some positional.

Nope, things get messy, and the probability of hitting the stop-loss increases (learned that from experience). Today’s trade is a perfect example:
Don’t follow this blindly. for this thesis to work you have to match my entry. Since your strategy is likely different from mine, you are better of ignoring it
