Today i sold piramal ent for sale value 16k. I could see that the entire 16k was available in cash limit.
I have observed this with few other stocks as well
Is it because icicidirect provides me balance 20% margin from their pool? Anycase they are sure of my sales settlement value so giving that full money for further trade ?
Maybe you should try buying back the same sold share on same day without having additional free cash in account and see if it allows or not. ICICIC allows margins only for that particular segment, means cash received by selling sock is not automatically moved to fno segment, one need to assign for it separately.
i just did that with heg yday
Sold and cash limit was showing full sale proceed
Later bought back as well
