sir, I shorted 1 lot(500) of Apollo futures in zerodha on 27 aug(expiry day) and didn’t exit…I neither have 500 shares in my demat nor enough money. What will happen? I see my fund balance 0. Anyone please reply
If you don’t have shares in your Demat account to fulfill the physical settlement obligation, this will result in short delivery and appropriate penalties will be charged by the Exchange in this case. You can read more here.
