Because I enter again at lower levels man. Same question how many times do you ask?
To wait for next year there is opportunity cost. When I feel I can generate better return that nifty, I sell. And when I think nifty will give me quick 2 to 3 percent I buy. Basically i am contra to the trend. And do exactly opposite to what you do.
You keep saying buy at all time high. What’s your returns in all the years you have traded. You also claim to have more than a decade experience. Why not share the returns in percentage terms you have made by buying at all time high. You get your technicals where people want to invest. Who even invests at all time high? What you do is trading. Not investing. You know how silver treated you last time you bought at all time high. You are imposing your views on others. Please don’t mix trading with investing.
Also. Please don’t reply to this so that I don’t have to reply further.
See. Here, You’re just saying in different words that the chance of going up or down is not the same. Do you see that? When you say “when I think nifty will give me quick 2 to 3%”, you’re saying “I think the chances of nifty going down(or up) 2% from here is higher than going in the other direction. It’s not 50/50”. Do you see that?
My returns have been terrible except the past few years. I already said I was profitable only recently and that it took a long time to get here.
You’re missing the full picture. When I first bought, I bought silvercase and it was near ATH at $40 in september 2025. Afterwards I added many times at multiple ATH. The problem was my capital and I leveraged to futures. I couldn’t add what I was comfortable with, which led me to increase my position drastically at the final ATH and the eventual crash happened taking out my profits and more. This was my first time dealing with Mcx futures and to me it’s a good learning experience and that’s all. The strategy of buying at ATH, especially those assets which keep making ATH week after week, is sound but my position sizing was whack. Even before Silver, I did add Gold at multiple ATH. Having said that even I have my doubts about current state of world indices.
There is no difference except time. Mostly the strategies are the same. Be it buy low sell high(yours) or buy high sell higher(mine).
How did I impose? I only asked a question what if ATH assets keep making ATH? In case, it isn’t clear no one has to follow my view. You don’t have to agree. We can agree to disagree. I’m letting my views known and somehow that seems to annoy you deeply and I don’t know why that is. My point of posting is to know and be known - to know others pov and to show my pov. In that process it’s inevitable that you agree with some views and disagree with others. For example, your strategy of selling nifty even though you’re bullish has deeply interested me. I was always a one view kind of guy. I take one sided positions based on one view. That double position based on one view made me to look at my options strategy differently and I now take different positions though that’s still incredibly hard for me. You also convinced me that Nifty might hit ATH or more just because of inflation. That’s not a view I had before. Inflation bad stocks go down was my only view. But now, If all hell breaks, I expect 75k on nifty - just because of currency depreciation, whereas I would’ve expected 8k before. We may never agree on some things but we really don’t have to. It’s fine to just know other’s pov or even just ignore it altogether. And it’s completely ok to be wrong.
