This reminded me of Fish don’t know they’re in water.
We are “blind” to some of the very significant aspects affecting our lives.
Some of those aspects are technically not even static,
but due to our limited experiences, we assume them to be fixed.
(eg. i wonder how our generation will react to -ve inflation. 
not just disinflation, but deflation.)
On a related note, Lifestyle Inflation is a thing, and it is possible to overcome it.
