I think putting SL on Short option legs do not cause any issue.
Hedge benefit is removed only if SL is put on Long option legs.
You are right in this case, that is a general statement, some times if both shorts are involved or in ,3,4 leg strategies if shorts are involved and if closing that can result in break of hedge then also they may get sms alert.
Anyhow there won’t be any peak margin penalty on pending orders even if they get sms alert, but upon completion of order peak margin penalty can be applied if there is no enough margin. Can’t add all these points on that article and make it more confusing hence mentioned a general statement.
Alternatively one can use GTT to avoid this.
