In kite, yesterday I bought some shares. They were showing in the holdings. But Today I bought shares of LT. In orders they are showing complete. But not showing in holdings

What is the difference between Holdings and Position.
After I sold a share( suppose I bought that share earlier at 45, and sold at 40), it went from holdings to position.
Now the price further decrease to 35 within that day. My position tab showing a gain of 5. Is that my profit? But I sold at 40. So I should have loss of 5 (45-40=5)
