I have noticed many times that even if the results meet market expectation, the price of the stock falls. And many times even if it not good price rises.
Few months back, RBI cut its rate by 25 bps as expected by the market but still the market tanked at the very moment of his announcement. Last time around it was kept unchanged and it had little to no effect.
Markets are never wrong. 
There are different factors to be looked at. It may happen that you might have overlooked any factor. Suppose, the results are below consensus but the management’s commentary is somewhat positive of the future outlook. So even if the result are bad you might see the stock flare high. Coming to thought of RBI policy, the day when RBI had reduced rates by 25 bps the markets were expecting a 50bps and the day when rbi was status quo markets were expecting the rates to be kept unchanged.
