You can add as third party beneficiary. No need to do NEFT. I used this with my HDFC account till 2015. Tried getting confirmation from customer care, as usual they were clueless. I tried and confirmed fund transfer then kept using it.
I guess at Zerodha end it does not matter if credit is due to NEFT or third party transfer.

I have account with HDFC Bank and they dont accept alphabets ZERNSE which is hilarious given that thats their own bank account. Can you confirm or if I am doing something wrong?
How does Broker know which trader has transferred money when someone transfer funds to Zerodha bank account via NEFT/RTGS.
I want to know mechanism behind it.
