I brought a stock which I am able to see in my holdings but unable to sell, can someone explain why?

I had purchased RTNINFRA on 11th November and I am able to see these shares in my portfolio. However, I am unable to sell these shares. Today I am not able to see 2100 shares of RTNINFRA.

You can’t trade intraday on BE category stocks like RTNINFRA due to exchange restriction. Also stocks bought as BE is available for selling only on T+2 day.

Assuming you held some BE stock in your demat, sold it on a particular day and bought it back thinking of it is as an intraday trade, it will work differently to a normal trade. The stock you held in demat will be considered as sold, and new shares that was bought will show up only after 2 days.

You had 1100 shares in demat, you bought 2000 more on 17th and sold 1000 shares. So when you sold 1000, 1000 shares from 1100 will be considered sold. So 100 shares will show up in demat. The remaining 2000 shares will show up in demat only after 2 days.
