Hi,
Any trade you make on any day, it will come under positions. It just implies the position you have taken on that particular day.
In your case, You have bought the shares on Friday. On the subsequent day, you could see them under Holdings (Demat A/c). When you sell them, it will be removed from Holdings and will be shown under Positions having a negative count.
Mind you, this is applicable only for stocks and not for FnO
For your question, (Selling/Exiting when the price is up), it will be the case of short selling and at the EOD, you are obligated to buy a stock
