I read at many places that 'momentum precedes trend', what does this mean?

imagine a car which is about to take a U turn. for that, it should slow down before taking that turn. the same happens most of the time during reversals in the market. people interpret this information in a wrong sense. every car that is slowing down(decreasing momentum/acceleration) doesn’t need to reverse. similarly, every momentum reversal need not result in a trend reversal. we make our eyes wide open when momentum reverses and observe the price for more clues…
