You’re rationalizing the lazy side of AI use by calling it “augmentation,” but that’s disingenuous. The problem isn’t that people use AI. It’s that most of them use it to skip the actual work of thinking, formulating arguments, and engaging with the thread.

There’s a massive gap between:

  • Using AI to sketch an outline, then filling it with your own reasoning, examples, and critique, and
  • Spitting out polished, generic AI paragraphs that could be generated by anyone.

That second one is low effort, no matter how many times you polish the prose. It’s outsourcing your brain.

And your Google search comparison is flatly wrong. When you Google, you still have to read, synthesize, and build your own argument. AI doesn’t just speed that up, you replace the synthesis with a model that didn’t do the forum’s cognitive work. That’s why posts feel robotic and discussions get worse.

will be held to different standards than individuals on the forum.

You are expected to be better than the individuals you are aiming to offer/sell something.
That’s why someone who’s presumably a 19-year old kid,
may get a free pass with something, even when you may not.

But an overall net positive

  • if folks think twice before posting the first thing that pops into their minds
    (pre-emptive note - am not saying you did, also am not saying you didn’t either.)
  • and if the quality of posts improves (or doesn’t drop). Over time.

Of course, am aware of second-order effects, and Unintended consequences - Wikipedia, which is one of the main reasons why we are continuing to have this conversation in good faith.

I hope with all the discussion on avoiding LLM filler,
the other highlighted points did not get overlooked that lower effort is lower effort,
irrespective of whether AI assistance is added into the mix or not.

I do not claim to speak for the entire TradingQnA community (or even a significant part of it), so you do not have to justify your stance further (to me). Maybe can think of a “trigger” upon which, you will accept that the current approach to content marketing on TradingQnA is not working, and then decide to incorporate the suggested tweaks. Until that trigger occurs, can continue as-is. :person_shrugging:t3:

Meanwhile i will continue participating on TradingQnA as i see fit.
Hopefully, in a consistent manner.

Even if your stated preference is that
you prefer that folks silently judge you negatively on, but you wouldn’t want to know,
I hope you see the value in folks who are happy to bring you up to speed on the various aspects of this forum,
and steer you clear from stuff that is generally despised on this forum,
and also help avoid stuff that tends to show you in poor light.

If not, that’s fine too.
