Impact of SEBI's new transparent pricing circular on the broking industry

They couldnt have increased brokerage (there’s competition too you know), especially with all the ‘handicaps’ like OTM restrictions (which have now reduced somewhat). Plus the business was anyway booming due to explosion in trading activity.

So, in a nutshell, SEBI is reducing the charges to pass on the benefits to traders but it is impacting your revenue, so u want to increase the brokerage. In the last, no benefit to traders but brokers enjoy the same meal.

Yeahhh. But now if they wanna increase brokerage how appropriate is it for us to call them names? Thats all that I am saying. Obviously I too don’t want brokerage or any transaction cost to increase.

It’s better if newcommers don’t come into the market. Personally I discourace people from coming into the market, unless they want to get slaughtered or have the grit/perseverence to face the challenges.

It’s people like you who would be quick to blame the markets for every loss. Grow up. Regulations and changes happens, nothing remains the same, better update and reposition yourself to the changes.

Hmm… you are clearly wrong. You haven’t tracked that the impact would be 10% of revenue. It is not 50 cr, it was closer to 800cr.
