what is meant by GMP , FACE VALUE?

Not sure about GMP, can you please share the context?

Face value is the nominal value of the share. In a lose sense, think of it as a the reference value. Usually this is fixed at Rs.10/-.

You are probably talking about Grey Market Premium, if its related to IPO. But not sure how it works/ means?

GMP - is a very murky affair. It is usually the side bets people take on the IPO in grey markets (unregulated OTC trades). It gives you an indication of how hot the IPO is. If the GMP is high, then chances of a bumper issue is also high and vice versa.
