Yeah, will do this, will take some time though.
Can we execute a basket order via ATO (Alert Trigger Order ) if i want to deploy a bull call spread when nifty cross a particular level or if i add all the respective strikes in order to get the margin advantage will it work
Yes, when the alert condition is met, orders available in the basket will be placed. The order will be placed in the same sequence you add in the basket, so the margin benefit will be provided accordingly.
Dear Zerodha,
I want to trade / do SIP based on:
- % change from set price
- Daily % change from prev day’s close price
- % change from prev. buy transaction.
Request to add this feature as it would be more beneficial for buy at dips and sell at highs.
Thanks,
BJD

hi @siva could you please have a look at ticket no. 20250922267776
There are some issues with Ato that I have mentioned here.
Sure, will inform the team.
Is this sequence method also applied sharply in options ? Let me ask you with an example
Assume that I have 40 lakh cash/cash equivalents as margin.
Position already holding :
(bought) 25450 CE x 390 Q
(sold) 25450 PE x 390 Q
margins needed usually is 12lakh (near 1/3 of 40 lakh)
ATO orders : Trigger some level of nifty
action long to short, sequance as mentioned
(buy) 25450 PE x 780 Q
(sell) 25450 CE x 780 Q
margins needed is shown as 24 lakh
I want to ask if buy order in ATO executes first, will it openup margin instantly for the setup as I am closing down my sold position with that (buy) order.
This is important as I am limiting position Q as 1/3 of margin and can increase it considerably if first ATO order releases margin.
I can also have 4 orders basket in ATO with sequance (buy)–>(sell)–>(buy)–>(sell) if i want to shift strike price, first two orders to close the position and last two to open a new one, will margin release instantly after execution of first two orders ?
Yes, margin release is instant upon execution of the order.
@Arockiya_Raja @siva
ATO experience has been smooth, previous raised issues have not occured agin till date.
Thankyou
I just have a suggestion/request.
→ I use ATO to buy stock as a limit order and place a GTT sl order % simultaneously.
The problem with GTT sell order is the trigger price and Price is identical. My sl are tight, as there is no buffer my sell order can be missed.
Current solution is I manually modify gtt sell order price with 3% buffer as SL is hit user wants to get out basically at MP i.e 3% buffer.
Could you please add a buffer % or allow user to set buffer %. This step will completely automate from buying to SL with maximum execution.
I agree, this is the problem… There should be option for Trigger and Sell price so in volatile market we can cover the risk.
Already on our list, we’ll pick it up soon.
Is the development in progress or this is in backlog.
What could be the expected release date for this?
Thankyou
