Investor's Protection Fund Trust (IPFT) by NSE

It is stated that the charges for Investor’s Protection Fund Trust by NSE is Rupees 10 per crore of the traded value ( equity).

  1. Does that mean, that if I buy a stock at NSE and pay the IPFT charge then I have some sort of insurance for my shares?

  2. If I buy shares that are less than one crore in value, then can I still be part of that scheme? Eg: If I buy shares worth 5 Lakh rupees at NSE, will I be charged the IPFT charge proportionately(i.e 50 paise) and thus be eligible for it?
