I wanted to understand if it is possible for retail investors and HNI to invest in other country markets like china and US ?
possible but why we should invest in other countries when we are in a biggest bull market in India…
Just for diversification
You can invest in US markets though their funds/etf such as
Motilal oswal nasdaq 100
Mirae asset has s&p500 top 50
Mirae asset faang
All of the above are US based funds/etf
Yes, it’s possible under LRS scheme you can invest up to USD 2,50,000 per financial year, you need to open an account with an international broker
Super helpful thanks and even Nippon hangseng is there right for hongkong stock exchange
Yes, but I know only about these three ETF as I am invested in these.
I suppose this is 7Lakhs per year under LRS ? And the $250000 is via the GIFT city right?
No, it has nothing to do with Gift city. LRS scheme is by RBI, any transaction that you do in foreign currency that will come under LRS, with some restrictions, like no margin trading, no FNO, and no lottery tickets etc etc.
