Is the total volume of shares traded for a particular scrip inclusive of the volumes traded using High frequency trading softwares?

In case of a scrip being traded actively in high volumes because of high frequency trading, doesn’t the volumes go much higher ? This is not particularly visible in the volumes of some of the actively traded scrips, say for ex. ACC Ltd. which has volumes of only a few lac shares? How does high frequency trading effect the volume of shares traded ?

Yes, all shares which are traded from any software (or other medium) are included in the total volume traded for a particular script. High frequency trading however increases the total volume.
