Check out the Ninja Trader demo version: http://www.ninjatrader.com/, it is free of cost and you can backtest strategies. But with NT you will need historical data though which needs you to buy it. Also coding on NT is not very easy if you don't have programming background.
We at Zerodha are launching our new trading platform Pi, which has option to backtest strategies. You can't do complex stuff, but ideal for someone starting off as tradescript is quite easy to learn.
S Nithin i know about pi i also one of the beta version user but don’t know when the PI will come with everything the wait is getting long day by day
