@Meher_Smaran Hi, my ITC hotels avg price got updated in Kite but my ITC avg price is not corrected ? Will it take time to correct them ?
Hi,
ITC Hotel Avg value addedd, but it is higher than the ITC avg cost. also noticed ITC avg is not updated.
Yes, the average cost of ITCHOTELS has been updated in Kite, but the cost allocation is completely unjustifiable and raises serious concerns about ITC’s intent behind this demerger.
The cost assigned to ITCHOTELS (₹576.96 in my case) is vastly inflated compared to its actual market-discovered value. The price discovery on listing day showed that ITCHOTELS accounted for only ~4.31% of ITC’s pre-demerger value, yet ITC arbitrarily allocated 13.51% of the cost to ITCHOTELS. This discrepancy is not just an error—it appears to be a deliberate misallocation.
This artificially high cost forces ITC shareholders to hold ITCHOTELS at an inflated book value, discouraging them from selling. Meanwhile, ITC’s cost is artificially deflated, making it seem like a better investment post-demerger. This raises serious ethical and regulatory concerns—was this structured to benefit select institutional investors at the expense of retail shareholders?
A demerger should unlock value, not be used as a tool to manipulate cost allocations to mislead shareholders. The current structure makes ITCHOTELS appear more valuable now than when it was part of ITC, which is financially absurd. If ITC’s intent was genuine value unlocking, why didn’t it let the market determine the fair cost split instead of imposing this distorted allocation?
Zerodha should escalate this issue with the relevant authorities and seek an explanation from ITC. Retail investors deserve accountability.
For me issue still persists, please check and resolve
