This is a request to bring out a “free tier” plan in Kite API which only allows access to OMS and positions management. Many of us are using 3rd party softwares to implement trading strategies. Hence, we do not need websockets streaming which I believe is the reason why zerodha’s api costs 2000/month as compared to other brokers.
If you could please offer a free subscription of kite api without websocket streaming as other brokers, it would be really nice.
We don’t think these APIs should be mass retail products, they are extremely risky for people who don’t know how to use them, especially with many platforms offering readymade algos. The price in a way is to ensure we cater to only those who are a certain portfolio size and over. Also the price ensures that only folks who are really serious end up using it.
