It depends if you trade in mis than it will be separate from your holding… But if you trade in CNC than it will -
Add to your existing position and you your avg buy price will change as per LTP, If you buy.
2 if you sell in CNC than your existing holding will become 0 and your position will appears in position box…
After at the end of day if you squre of your your position your avg buy rate at holding will again came at what it was before…
But it will diff if you sell and then buy
1 you’re holding stocks for many days or weeks and selling/buying them to square off. Here its just squareoff if done in CNC - CNC . If bought in CNC and you holding it for long then you convert it to MIS , it will be considered as separate trades .
2 you bought stocks in “cnc” (holding) and converted them into “mis” (intraday) to make it INTRADAY TRADING . SAME DAY .
You already have 100 shares of xyz stock in your demat.
Now on day t you sell 100 shares CNC at 9.30…
Then you buy 50 shares CNC at 2.05
Then you sell 50 shares at 2.15.
Then you buy 100 CNC at 3.00
As net CNC trades of the day is 150 buy and 150 sell.
At the end of the day all CNC trades will be considered as MIS and your original Demat won’t be touched.
But had you tried to sell 150 shares CNC on your first trade above , it would have resulted in error.
In intraday it is essential that net quantity is 0. That is your total buy and sell for all trades of the day are same. So at EOD you have no shares left to take from someone or give to someone.
Hence no change in holdings
first i made profit of 1200 in fno by buying selling 10150 ce then i buy edelwise book profit of 243 by buying and selling then i buy torrent in cnc order and about to book profit 120 rs but i sell it in by mistake in mis order and turn off my laptop then i saw i made profit of 108 in short sell too but very next day (today) it shows 0 and no holding .they treat mis and cnc order in different manner i know
But ideally you can convert mis to CNC and CNC to mis for whole day if net sell shares is less than or equal to holdings.
If you have 1000 shares in demat.
Now if you sell 1000 MIS and then convert to CNC, its okey.
But if you sell 10000 mis and try to convert to CNC it won’t and will show error as you do not have 10k in demat
