Bro, yes instant pledge works only for shares already credited in demat (settled holdings). For T+1 buys, you can’t pledge because the shares aren’t in demat yet, so margin pledge won’t reflect the same day.
I trade across multiple brokers and I haven’t seen anyone allowing pledge on T+1 holdings. If you find any broker that genuinely supports it, tell me.
T+0 - no on provides margin on T+0, but i have had account with Anand rathi, whatever i used to purchase in cash segment, automatically it was send for Pledge post 9pm on T+0 itself, and it came to me for OTP approval/verification on cdsl website. Post approval, i had the margin in account by next day (T+1), before mkt opening.
T+1 - most brokers are able to pledge and give margin on T+1
T+2 - now i think in zerodha process we will only be able to get margin on T+2. Till this latest update was rolled out the process was so bad, that one could initiate pledge on T+2, but got margin only on T+3, now atleast its available on t+2, but still 1 day late compared to other brokers.
atleast MTF to cash segment we should be to convert & send for fresh pledging & get back the margin by next day atleast.
Sounds so against the regulations.

This is totally wrong … zerodha used to provide pledging on T+1 before as it was not instant and yoy use to get margins on T+2. After insatnt pledging its T+2 and margins get credited isnatntly. Looks like you are confused with the concept.

is this roll out really giving pledge margin in 15 mins.
i pledged at 8-10 am. all the pledge status is showing as success also, but till now no margin added, its nearly 9am.

For pledge requests submitted before 9:00 AM, the margins will start reflecting around 9:00 AM. For pledge requests made after 9:00 AM, margins typically take up to 15 minutes to reflect.
If the margins for your submitted pledge requests are still not reflecting after this, please DM your user ID and we’ll check this further.
i got it slightly post 9, but due to that premarket orders all got rejected.
hi, i did pledges today at 8-30 to 8-45 am. the margins only reflecting now around 9-12am.
all orders in pre-open got rejected as due to margin not reflecting on time.
why cant margins be updated by 8-45 am itself?

Usually, pledge requests placed after 9:00 AM should reflect margins within 5 minutes. We are also exploring instant margin credits for pledge requests submitted before 9:00 AM, and we’ll keep you posted on any updates.
If margins for today’s pledge requests are still taking longer than expected to reflect, please let us know.
just want that pledges placed before 9am can have margin in place by 8-50 am so preopen orders dont fail. today the margin was given only by 9-12am or so. by that time pre-open was already over
