MTF closed beta for TradingQ&A users

Almost 3 weeks… When native option chain?

@vareshet I am doing good, thanks for asking. Hope you have been well. Across these brokers, the MTF experience is almost similar across these 3 brokers (Zerodha, AngelOne, Dhan) with a few give or take. Zerodha’s MTF as a standalone offering is pretty good but then the outdated Kite platform mars the experience.

Thanks and good to hear from you too. I am going well and stick to ICICI for MTF but now as Zerodha opened up thinking to back however agree the Kite platform need better improved, in that matter Dhan is fast forward so for now I am in dilemma to go to Dhan or back to Zerodha.

Couple more weeks.

If you mean 50 lakhs limit then in coming months we have plans to increase it.

I bought a stock yesterday under MTF and sold it today. In holdings I get 0 quantity, but in positions it’s showing -500 quantity and is not greyed out like it’s an active position. Is this expected or it’s short sell?

It is expected, it is not shortsell, this will be greyed out in coming days.

Bumping up this once again @siva The MTF shows up in the holding section and BSE prices are quoted in a delayed manner in holdings section but in a hurry whenever I am clicking on the stock name to sell, there are 2 bottlenecks that I am facing: (1) Delayed BSE feeds, (2) The MTF by default places on BSE and thus get rejected.

Would appreciate if real-time NSE feeds are used in the holding section atleast for the MTF holdings and whenever I click on the stock name in holding section to sell, kindly make NSE default for MTF stocks that are being sold. In a hurry, I square off at market just to see a rejected order on BSE. I was not sure if should have even written this post but this is a big issue for me. Thanks!

@VenuMadhav @siva for TATSILV MTF benefit is not showing up in order window. This is in the approved list of securities. Other instruments are showing MTF benefit in the order window.

Fear is the amount of margin blocked if MTF is not provided. Screenshots attached.

There is nothing like delayed BSE feeds, liquidity on BSE is less compared to NSE.

They are real time. I would suggest you to create one watchlist which have only holdings, add only NSE scrips, this way all your requirements will be addressed.

Hi @siva I should have better phrased the sentence. The Holdings section on Kite gets a price tick every 3-4 seconds, and that too for the BSE prices and they often vary significantly than the NSE prices where the actual trades occur on MTF.

It’s okay if you don’t want to implement real-time prices in the holdings section, instead of sending 1 tick every 3-4 seconds. That just doesn’t cut for me.

Last day, the prices for SBIN was ₹860 for NSE and ₹856 for BSE, for a quantity of 500, my profits were showing less by ₹2000 in Holdings sections. Hope this clears the issue I face.

It was just a feedback from my end as per my usage. Thanks for your time!

Tagging @nithin to kindly consider the implementation of real-time prices feeds for the Holdings section.

Let me check BSE prices on holdings and confirm you tomorrow.

Alternatively I suggest, creating a seperate tab under holdings section containing MTF positions only and use real-time NSE prices for only that section.

If the MTF trade can only happen on NSE, there’s anyway no point in showing BSE prices right. That is actually counter-productive.

This is something I had created a ticket one year back which the support team said NO. if someone is buying in NSE the ticker update should be in NSE. I dont know what the challenge is in implementing this. Rest brokers have this.

1 year ago, Zerodha had stake in BSE, recently they have off-loaded the BSE investment at some massive gains, so I guess… @sn88  buy your own products, IYKYK…

I normally use broker terminal for just buy and sell , but with MTF as its NSE only trades , it should be implemented. Eagerly waiting for zerodha to activate MTF for all.

It is SEBI rule to show best price every day, based on previous days closing. So if it closed on BSE higher yesterday, that will be shown today.

@tallerballer You are confusing EOD rules with live market rules. In live market, only NSE prices are shown across all brokerages. Check and see for yourself… Dhan, AngelOne, etc. all use NSE in live market prices. Especially more so, for MTF holdings.

In Zerodha, they will never show the NSE price in live market irrespective of the best price, they only show delayed feeds of BSE. One tick in holdings, on an average of 3 seconds.

Stock is running and crossed 980 3 seconds ago, meanwhile Zerodha portfolio is at 960.
