The Diwali Muhurat trading session this year will be held on Sunday, November 08, 2026, from 02:20 PM to 03:40 PM. Keeping with our tradition of over the last 15 years, brokerage charges for all trades during the Muhurat trading session will be reversed. Zero brokerage on all Intraday, F&O, and commodity trades.
### **What is Muhurat trading?**
A Muhurat trading session is held every year by the exchanges on Diwali, during Lakshmi Puja.
Before electronic trading, trading took place in designated trading halls of stock exchanges, accessible only to stockbrokers and their registered assistants. Investors would place orders through brokers, who would then execute the trades in the hall.
On Muhurat trading day, the usual restrictions were relaxed, allowing brokers’ clients, friends, and family to witness open-outcry trading in person.
Buying stocks during Muhurat trading is considered auspicious and is believed to bring good fortune for the year ahead.

Small correction going by the exchange circulars reported in the news, the normal session is 2:20 to 3:30 PM, with pre-open from 2:05. Also, only brokerage gets reversed, STT, exchange charges and stamp duty still apply. And Tuesday Nov 10 is a full holiday for Balipratipada, so plan F&O positions around that. Liquidity is usually thin, stick to limit orders.

Market buys one week before this session and on that day they only sell for profit - only red-intraday candles everywhere, no place to buy and then sell. I was fooled 2 times - but not this time 😃
