. My question is say i observe a stock to appreciate after moving above 500rs to 504rs can i place buy order such that buy is executed above 500 but below 501 . Plz reply

Vikram Singh,

You have to place normal limit Buy order in between 500 and 501. If you are buying above the market price as in this case (504) you can use Stop Loss orders. Anytime you want to place a Buy order below the market price it has to be limit orders.

Hi Vikram,

You can place Stop loss limit with trigger (500) and limit price (501).

You can place a STOP LOSS - LIMIT buy order with

Price = 501

Trigger Price = 500

If the quantity is huge try SL-Market orders, since in SL-L orders if price quickly moves >501, your order will only be partially executed.

sir
my scenario was say stock is currently trading at 498 or any price below 500 i am expecting move if it goes above 500…(504) was my target price)…normally say i have to continuously monitor the stock and enter order…when breakout happens…if i place a limit order buy @500 it will get filled at the best price which is currently below 500 but my trade will become valid only on braking out above 500…
…plz reply

hmm … then you have to use Stop Loss orders to get executed at 501
