For beginners, I would suggest to invest in existing fund with enough track record, rather than going for NFO.
Most NFO these days are replica of some existing funds or some “hot theme” and AMCs push them to garner more AUM.
Unlike IPO of shares, there is no specific advantage of investing in most NFOs.
