On selling using CNC, which share will get sold (from demat or trading)?

suppose I have 100 shares of X in my demat. I also bought 100 more share in the morning as CNC and later decides to sell it as intraday. So is there chance my shares in demat get sold, the shares in trading remain there without selling. In other words, Will the shares in demat be sold, only if I am not holding it in trading account ?

Hi trade100,

You are correct, whenever you are trading in equity. By end of the day, if your buy and sell quantity matches it considered as intraday trades. If buy quantity is more, that extra buy quantity will be credited to your demat account on T+2 day and if sell quantity is more then that extra sell quantity will be debited from your demat account.

If you are closing the trades on the same day, your demat account is not getting affected. Your old shares will remain there only.

But if you keep it overnight and sell, then the shares in your demat account which is of older date will get debited and new shares will be credited.

This will happen even if you are selling on T+3 day or so, your shares of old date will get debited first with the recent shares remaining in your account with recent purchase date.
