Is it possible to have only coin access for customers , not the trading account ? If Yes, possible for NRI(s) ? Are there restriction on NRI(s) to have mutual fund(MF) investment in demat form ? Is there PIS permission required in case of MF also or not ?
Since all mutual funds on Coin are held in demat mode a trading and demat account has to be compulsorily opened. There are quite a few benefits of holding MFs in demat form and Nithin has explained them in this post. It is currently not possible for NRI’s to invest in MFs but we are working on it.
